All Gone, or is it?

The hyped street culture book entitled All Gone released worlwide this week on it's fourth year. The book is pretty fitting all gone from most of the retailers already, but i managed to snatch mine from the local Wood Wood store yesterday. The book itself is like we know it. A beautiful layout, and quality pics. A pretty complete collection of the efforts from various artist, stores and brands. We all know the big deal in this genre, and it does not need further introduction. When skimming this book i am pretty surprised to see how much 2009 has offered, and that is the fun part about this book. In 10 years it will work optimal, but right now for the time being it really screams as a giant commercial.

The Collaboration scene keeps on growing, and it is no secret that we do see at least as many failed attempts, as we see well performed projects. But in all the uproar i cant help to think for myself what a good collaboration really is. The first thing that fascinated me was also very obvious. The work between large and small scale. The opportunity for a small company to get their creative minds in to work on something big. To get the personal style rocking on a piece of foreign and different design, or rework the classiks, and the chance to create something rather unique. I myself hope to see more of the personal, well thought and interesting colabs this year.

Remember them as ROOS?

or KANGAROOS? Some interesting news this year strikes as a surprise, as we see a great preview of what has to become the strongest comeback for the classik Kangaroos in years! My memories with the flashy brand started back in the mid 90's with some top tuned velcro sneakers, resulting in awesome credits in the kindergarten! I even recall them having a light-up feature in the midsole! This reissue sees some quite other values, as we turn our attention to the heritage styles, the Combat (Pic 1) the outcast (pic 2) and the K-1 (pic 3) all a great part of vintage styles as we like them! Suede, nylon and mesh. Sounds familiar? Well the fine skippy that adorns the side panels surely isn't, so this time we are asured something different on our feet. I feel nostalgic already!

New Balance 670 WW

To finish of the New Balance theme days i've been running here lately (without intention) i have done some new photos of the 670 Wood Wood. I never got to buy these the day they were released back in 2007, but luckily i managed to fetch these off in boxed mint condition from a good friend of mine some time ago. Really made my day! The shoe really offers some serious photo action, and i never really feel like i do them justice. The purple nubuck with touch of navy suede and lining of orange contrast matches perfectly. The last picture is from the summer 09', where i rocked them heavily with the matching socks. A little before and after!

New Balance behind the scenes

It is no news that the "Made in UK" title given to the Flimby-treated retro runners have something special to offer, not only for the delicate materials used and the thought given to each trainer, but also because of the factory being located in the northwest of England, which appeals to many sneaker lovers, and gives a rather unique feeling of joy. Ah well, this video is no news really, but it is still fun to watch if you want to get a look at the process of a classik New Balance sneaker. Plus the tour guide is wonderful!

Watch the video here! http://vimeo.com/4977455

Now i think i'm gonna give those US mades a go!

Footearth!

Here the other day a friend of mine sent me a link to a interesting website named "Footearth". The concept of the website is simple. Take a picture of your feet/shoes/slippers, anything goes as long as your feet are represented, and upload it on the website with your location. it works like Google Earth with marked out spots of photos from different places in the world. Take a look at what someone is wearing in Africa, Peru or tiny little Denmark! There is uploads from all around the world. I myself will contribute to the website right away. Not with bare feet though!

The Pegasus 89!

A retro in all it's glory today! The Nike Pegasus 89', one of the great outputs from the pegasus line in the late eighties-mid ninetees really offers a comfy fit plus they look great, specially in this red colorway in my opinion. They have taken some serious beating from time to time, and have proven themselves to be pretty sturdy. I even ran in them once, just to revive that special retro running era for myself, which i am regrettable to young to remember. Fresh!

A mystery yet unsolved!

It's late here in Copenhagen and i should be studying math, but another thing came to my mind as i sat there trying to read. Where did that Asics x A.R.C model we saw a preview of early 09' go? Aswell as the Saucony x A.R.C, which was previewed at the same time. As Alife Rivington Club stated in their previews, these where set to release late summer 09'. That never happened, and here just about 6 months later i do wonder how long this "delay" is going to last. These had something fresh to offer, and i like the Saucony jazz/shadow fusion. It's not a shame to wait, but it would be a shame to miss.

No news on this, but i will (like many other people) stay tuned for more info. Until then we will have to settle ourselves with the same pictures that we have been staring at for the last 6 months. Still fresh!

Back to the math!

A look into Warrior footwear

Chinese footwear brand Warrior, has been making performance footwear for athletes since 1935. It has grown into an iconic brand for many people, and has some very classic styles which kompliments the footwear tendencies these days. A canvas and rubber mix with some simple detailing and fresh tennis/plimsol silhuettes. Whilst they might not differ that much from other canvas sneakers, they are a fun little supplement and has a lot of vintage value. They are not seen very often in europe, and frankly i have never seen a pair in Copenhagen before!

Interesting sneakers, yet very lowkey!

Art & Sole!

A great christmas present this year was this interesting book named Art & Sole! It features some brilliant stuff! Artwork by Dave White who paints sneakers in his own very distinctive way! Paper shoes by Japanese artist Shin Tanaka, and the interesting Electric Tiger Land campaign focusing on Onitsuka Tiger's Made in Japan brand strategy. A big light-up shoe with elements of Tokyo incorporated in the design. Interesting!

The book also features some very detailed reviews of the shoe collaboration scene, from the ben drury AM 1's to the Crooked tongues "Confederation of villany" projekt with New Balance. And a good look into designers like Hiroshi Fujiwara, Jeremyville etc.

Good stuff!

On a cold and wet day...

Mesh and suede would not be the most obvious choice, but i felt like taking these out for a walk for the first time, after picking them up at half price! The New Balance 577 is simply a classik, a 20 year old silhuette that clearly defines the strength of retro sneakers. These are extremely comfy, and after hurting my knee yesterday when i was out running, they did their job! Damn those rough snowy paths, i have never experienced a knee injury, so i hope this wont be too serious!

Good evening everyone!

The LunarWood in action!

A couple of weeks ago i did some photos of the excellent LunarWood dealing some punches out in the snow. Mostly because i wanted to see how it would work out, but also because i think that the snowy aesthetics matches perfectly for this shoe. It is sturdy, comfortable and last but not least it looks good! This is the type of collaboration that really stands out from the lot, Wood Wood never disappoints. being a fused Wildwood upper (a classik acg Nike hiking sneak) and Lunar sole the design is so appealing that it has an impressive visual satisfaction status. Well thought! Hybrids are getting better and better. And the ion-mask membran which keeps your feet dry is a pleasure. Well done guys!

The only problem with this shoe is that you drag home mud, snow and dirt because you just cant help it!

Hope you enjoy the pictures. And dont forget the photo session by Thomas skou and Wood Wood on: http://www.beinghunted.com/v60/features/wood_wood_nike_sportswear_lunar_wood/wood_wood_nike_sportswear_lunar_wood.html

Adidas gets ready for 2010

Already getting some attention in december month last year, Adidas buckle up for some nice consortium releases early this year. Reworking their zx8000 model and Torsion special we are sure to get some real action. The zx8000 has been treated with a nice innovative colorway (if this still exists) which pops out with some nice complementary elements. The white and grey sticks well to the model and makes the shape look even sleeker, and with that turquoise detailing and lace jewel detail, Adidas will surely hook fans in large numbers.

The Torsion Special has seen some nice solid makeovers before, and this is certanly a way to keep it going. This being a less weather resistant version, it will be a model to rock heavy on those dry days. Adorned by yellow and magenta detailing, it still looks fresh!

Release is set for early 2010

Saucony under German treatment!

A couple of months ago the first pictures of the new collaboration between Saucony and Solebox was revealed. The oldskool Shadow 6000 caught peoples attention with the catchy black & orange colorway, and the midsole unit of a shadow 5000. This gives the retro sneaker a fresh new shine as the Shadow 90! A surprise to some, the Grid type A3 model (which has been treated by a makeup from Solebox before) joins the pack, which serves as a "before and after" look, at the last two decades of saucony running shoes.

The Grid technology that centres the heel on impact and thereby comforts the body works well, if someone feels the urge to go running in these (which i myself find attractive)

We are taking gentle steps into a future of tech sneakers which is interesting. Hikmet Sugoer (founder and owner of Solebox) also gives his words on how he likes to see development in the industry, which you can read on his blog on Hypebeast. Good job on these Hikmet and Co. !

The release date is set for February/March

Footprints in Copenhagen

First of all a happy new year to all of you!

A new year has a lot of purposes and for me it means a humble beginning on my new blog, which i am very excited about!

A humble start means no readers at the time i am writing this, but hopefully my blog will expand during the year! So all we can hope for now is that 2010 will be a great year for the footwear scene!Right now i will start of this blog with a pair of Adidas ZX9000 Wood Wood's, which was one of the great outputs of the AZX consortium range from 08'. A good way of starting the year!
